This can be frustrating not being able to find the file you downloaded. This can also happen on Android devices, which have a file system like any other operating system. Here’s how to find downloaded files on Android.
Every Android device has some sort of File Manager app preinstalled. On Google Pixel phones, this is simply called “Files”. Samsung Galaxy phones call them “My Files”.
You also have the option to install a different File Manager from the Google Play Store. One of the things we love is the “Files by Google” app. Apart from allowing you to view downloads, it has handy tools to free up storage space.
Downloaded files are saved to the “Downloads” folder on your device. To get started, open the file manager on your Android phone or tablet. In this example, we’re using the Google Pixel “Files” app.
The next step is to find the “Downloads” folder. Tap the hamburger menu icon in the top left corner to open the side menu.
Select the “Download” option from the list.
All files that you download can be found in this folder.
The process is easier if you use the “Files by Google” application. First, open the app on your Android device. Make sure you are on the “Explore” tab.
Tap the “Download” option and you will see all the documents and files you downloaded.
